I'm a US navy disabled vet. I spent most of my time in the navy as an aircrew survival equipmentman.( Thats the fancy term for parachute rigger)I spent some time in the phillipines at fleet composite squadron 5 or VC-5, then NAS moffet field california at the IMA paraloft for a couple of years, The pacific missile test center IMA paraloft at Point mugu california, And Mc Murdo station antarctica with VXE-6 for operation deep freeze. ( and yes it's true there really is a barbershop pole at the south pole!). O'h yes, and one year with the MN air national gaurd with the 210'th EIS. I would do it all again in a heartbeat if I could. I suffer from Fibromyalgia,herniated disks, degenerative disk disease, osteoarthritis,diabetes, severe depression from chronic pain I have cause no pain meds work on me. and a couple of other dread things. All starting from a 3 to 5 hundred foot parachute fall while in the navy in 1984 at parachute rigger school in lakehurst new jersey. (I crashed myself on the same base as the hindenburg crashed!) My advice is don't jump out of perfectly good planes.I really fell ill about october 2005 it was as if everything finally came together and attacked all at once. I geuss i'm good with it kinda cause I got to do so much in my life before I got really bad. I live for fridays so I can hang out with my chronic pain support group at the va. Theyr a bunch of awsome people to hang with.I have four grandchildren that I adore and spoil as much as I can courtesy of two out of my three sons. Update, soon to be five!! One of my sons is in the navy and is a military cop. My other son is a veteran from the navy now, he was a missile tech. on an east coast submarine. And my youngest is a caregiver for special needs people. I'm so proud of my boys! My family keeps me going. My big dream is to escape Minnesnowta and move somewhere along the colorado river like lake havasu or needles, Cause I feel so much better in the desert heat and dryness. and the fishins good there!
