About Me
Hello! I am a right BKA and Stage III Large B-cell Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma survivor since 2005. I had surgery for abdominal pain on January 3, 2005, and they went in to take my appendix. My appendix was perfect though, but they found the lymphoma tumor. They took that out, along with the blood vessels it was wrapped around. I had a blood vessel bypass, but my leg swelled up to twice it's size. It became gangrenous and had to be removed one month after my first surgery. I had chemo and went into remission, but I got MRSA and had to have two more surgeries. Then had two more surgeries to close up the wound. I spent 15 months in a hospital bed in my living room, with my family, my husband and two sons taking care of me. I finally got my temporary prosthesis two days short of a year from my amputation. I now have my permanent prosthesis and I am still in remission, whew! Only two more years to go!
