I'm reading Purpose driven life for the start of my new year. It suggests that we all have metaphors for what life is about. The books suggest that the metaphor you use to describe life can suggest a lot about how you view or feel about this life. For me life has always been a marathon or long endurance race. Acts 20:24 is tattooed onto my wrist describing it.
"However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace."
