Friday night:  I had 4 pizza pies delivered to the kids across the street for helping with the leaves last weekend. Then while Amy and I were enjoying our pizza, we had the parade of kids that kept coming to the door to thank us.  Ughh!  I forgot how many kids live there...  I lost count at 5.  I told them thanks and remember this when my driveway needs clearing.

While surviving the Nor'easter on Saturday, we discovered a leak in the porch roof.  The porch has original beadboard ceiling.  Well over 100 years old.  I really want to protect this.  I wasn't going out on the roof during the storm, so we just placed a bucket under it and caught the drops.  Went to the early movie and saw 2012.  Man, I hope the end of the world happens faster then that.  Also, who brings crying infants to the movies?  Hello!  Mr & Mrs Rude, we're trying to hear the movie. Not your screaching spawn...  Then meet up with the neighbors for cocktails at our local watering hole..

On Sunday, I went out on the roof and tracked the logical location of the opening.  I found a screw had been placed in the roof and was sticking out.  I guess the previous owners must have had something mounted up there.  Over time the screw had rusted and loosened up.  This created an opening for the rain water to flow in.  So, I pulled the screw out, filled the hole with silicon, then covered it over with roofing cement.  That should solve the problem for the time being.  While up there I took the opportunity to take a hard look at the roof.  We are going to need to have some work done come spring.  There's a few soft spots and a couple of the facia boards look a little weather beaten.  Just when I thought we'd have the money for the new deck/patio, we might have to use it for the roof.  Uggghhh! Ya gotta love owning old houses.

Also, while up there, I cleaned the gutters that I could reach, and strung the Christmas lights.  Why not?  It was 65 degrees and sunny.  Got to take advantage of these days when we get them.

That was my weekend..  How was yours?

Mine wasn't too exciting. Friday night I went out to my mom's house since I haven't seen her much the past few weeks. My car broke down about 3 weeks ago and still isn't fixed. This is quite inconvenient as much as I drive, but hopefully within the next few days I'll be back on the road. Saturday my cousin's son had his 1st birthday party, so that's where I spent the day. It was fun and he is an adorable baby. Sunday I went to church and did some homework. I made an "A" on my first Child Growth and Development test, so no complaints there.

As for babies in the movies, this is a big pet peeve of mine as well. It seems to be becoming more and more common and it really annoying.

Our weekend was filled with two amazing groups of people as one came from our church to help Greg clean up the yard for the fall--leaves, hedge trimming, tree removal, etc., and another group continued to work on the planning for this Thanksgiving Party/Video Event.

It's very funny because the film people are active/retired, and the youngsters and the old folk have entirely two views of how this should be shot, and then viewd in my room.  And now some of them are actually getting semi-serious about documenting this, and some are reminding others that they are working for free, and on and on.  The words "non-Union" have been spoken in my hearing.  But everyone is still having a good time, so that's what counts.  They just are all so professional when it comes to something connected to their work..

Then there are the people who are organizing the food, and they are also very enjoyable as there are, it seems in most any event, some who need to be "in charge."

I can't wait until this comes off, as the planning-preparation is extending beyond the weekend through Thursday, I think. . .. bonnie

I guess we'll see that on Wed. night.

Bonnie, I don't think I'm up to speed on this video project.  Can you fill me, or all of us in?  Maybe start a different thread about it.

congratulations on the fantastic grade. Before I had a brain stem hemmhorage while pregnant with my son I was taking early childhood ed classes. They are very rewarding. I loved the educational program. I guess I am pretty lucky when it comes to movies. I tend to only see afternoon showings and the babies are home then. The local movie theater shows movies before 5PM at a cheaper rate. Odd that early in the day the children are not at the movie theater. Suzen
