I spoke to my neurolgist again yesterday afternoon. When I told him I was STILL having problems with the arm tremors, he added a new medicine TRIHEXYPHENIDYL to the other med,carbo/levodopa I`ve been taking since 6/26/09. This time he called in a full month`s supply 90 tablets  - 1 tablet  3x day on the carbo/levadopa and a smaller quantity of the trihexphenidyl.

I`ve got to call him Monday and let him know what`s going on.I found out there`s a P.D. support group in my area and they`re meeting from 1-4 pm on the 8th  of July. I called the contact person for that group and talked a bit. They encouraged me to come and It may be I`ve found someone who knows the territory. It should be interesting.

At this point the neurolgist hasn`t said I definitely have Parkinson`s or definitely ruled it out either. Maybe it really does take a long time to make a definitive diagnosis, since there aren`t blood test, CAT scans or EEGS that can be used to make the determination.

It`s funny, I can be patient about a lot of things, but that tremor is really annoying. I guess I`m s........l.........o....... w.......... l......... y       l....e......a......r......i......n.......g   to live with it but  it`s like one of those stupid paper cuts that seem to hurt far worse than a more serious injury.

If anyone else has been told they have Parkinson`s Disease and would care to share their experiences with me,  I would really appreciate it. Thank you. ollie

Ollie, I don't have Parkinson's and honestly don't know much about it. Whatever the outcome, I know you'll approach it with the wonderful personality you have. Not to say it'll be easy, but something tells me you can handle just about anything thrown your way. You're in my prayers.. hope you feel better soon :)

    Hey Ollie,

Hang in there! You are going to be fine.  I can only imagine how frustrating and difficult the waiting can be.  You have offered all of us so much love, support, and encouragement.  I am glad you found a Parkinson's support group in your area.  Attending and getting information and personal experience from others will help you so much.

I will continue to keep you close in prayer.  I am here to listen when you need to vent.  We all love you, Ollie and care about you so very much.

    God Bless You,

I have personally known two people with Parkinson's.  They both handled it with grace and dignity.  I have no doubt that you will as well, Ollie, if it turns out that is what it is....  Any new diagnosis is kind of a blow.  It can feel like too much has been piled on our plate.  Especially for those of us with multiple disabilities!

A while ago, I read someone else's post......sorry, can't remember who or where, but on Disaboom.  The "gist" of their tidbit of advice was, "Don't spend all your time thinking about ________"  They named a specific disability, but I thought that was good advice for any of us.....no matter our disability.  Sometimes we just think too much.

    Hang in there......

Hello Ollie my dear friend. Take it one day at a time as they say. It is good that you have a locla support group to relate to and get info. from. I hope that the meds. start to help you sooner than later. I wish I had a magic ball to see what is going on with you to help remove your doubts and fears but I don't. I hope that you can set this aside and have a good 4th of July. Remember that many, many people both on here and not on here are saying prayers for you. I hope you won't be offended by this but if it is Parkinson's you will be able to mix your own drinks!!!!!!!!

    Lots of hugs to you,

    Jamie

Hi Ollie.....Trish said it perfectly.....we've all grown to love you very much. No matter what the outcome , I know you'll handle it with strength, dignity........and just plain.....class ! You've been so caring, loving and supportive with so many people here.........now you get to see how important you've become.......to many of us. You'll be in my prayers.......and if it is Parkinson's.......that you'll learn to live with it......to where it doesn't rob you of any of your warmth and joy. If anybody can do that.......you can............peace and love to you.......Norma

Yesterday I ran into someone I knew at Walmart ,(was there to pick up some groceries  for Mrs. while she was at a class to meet NYS certification to maintain her license as a health care worker). She noticed my arm trembling .I just said that right now the doctors were treating the tremor with carbo/levodopa and triheyphenidyl , but that a definitive diagnosis hadn`t been made yet.Since she works in the medical profession, she knew exactly what I might be diagnosed with and wished me success in treating the tremors. For some reason, I felt better afterwards.          Big Smile                                                 ollie
