I have SB and have had one bout with kidney stones. My urologist decided they were small enough that they would pass on their own. Sure enough, several months later, I was awoken around 3 a.m. one night with a sharp pain in my mid-back. It lasted for several hours, all the while I was keeled over in sheer agony. It was the absolute worst pain I have ever experienced in my life. I would not wish this pain on anyone, so I hope your fiance is able to get them cleared in a less painful way.
