Hi Disaboom Community!
The Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, in collaboration with McMaster
University, is currently seeking research participants for a study involving
wheelchair mobility in people living with spinal cord injury. This study hopes to enforce the importance of
wheelchair skills and how these skills can help to positively influence a
person’s level of physical activity and community participation.
What participants will do:
1) Engage in a wheelchair skills test (with trained supervision)
2) Complete some questionnaires regarding well-being and physical
activity
3) Have an activity monitor (the size of a wristwatch) attached to the
frame of your wheelchair for 7 days.
This can be easily removed and will not damage your chair in any way!
Attached is a flyer/advertisement and a letter of information regarding
this study. Participants will be reimbursed $25.00.
