We have a very long running thread about Weather, and I have noticed that the same weather conditions effect different people, with different disabilities, in different way.  Snow is great for some, particularly those who are into adaptive sports like skiing, and is terrible for others, like me, when my whole body stiffens in the cold due to my disease.

What are your favorite seasons, and do you connect the season to your emotional state?  I love fall, with the change of leaves, but some find it depressing.

I think that gaining an insight into our reactions to the world around us helps us deal with our challenges.  If we KNOW we are depressed from the weather, it can help handle the situation.  I also know that our reactions may not be due to disability, but memories, or chemistry (?), but any insight into our situations is helpful in personal growth, I have both found and observed.

Something to think about, and perhaps do some introspection to better handle the world as it turns.  bonnie

I definitely agree that the seasons can affect one's emotions.  I prefer summer because my body does better in warmer, drier temperatures.  In my opinion, any day over 85 degrees with low humidity is a good day.  During the winter, along with parts of the spring and fall, I find myself more sluggish and grumpy.  I think this is basically because my joints tend to 'behave' better in warmer weather, whereas they tend to get tight and painful in colder and more humid weather.  While I do like to see the changes of the seasons, especially going into fall and into spring, I wish these times would be a little warmer so that I could really enjoy it rather than being too preoccupied by pain to enjoy it.

Bonnie it is good to see you posting here again. Funny thing is I do not need a weather report I can usually tell the day by how I feel when I wake up and do something real simple like get out of bed. Some times days in advance. I’d have to say autumn is my maybe most favorite time of year with a linger dread of winter rains. I truly do best in warm to hot dry climates as opposed to high humid cold places like where I live. I think over time ones ideal living conditions may change. While I am looking into moving South for sure there is simply to much here that prevents a move so I simply put up with it.

As for mood well yes there is that effect and yes I can tend to get grumpy usually because of my commute to and from work. But then again I can come home stoke up a fire in the fire place, sit back watch TV or read a book or catch up on my trade subscriptions over a glass of wine or beer I made myself. Honest without the change in seasons I’d simply get lost as to what beers, wine or preserves I should make. Oh Yeah good food and spirits for me do make the winter months bearable. So I cope with the preserves gathered from the different seasons. Reminds me of that "There is a season thing" only for me the meaning is different.

I used to love the rain, especially when it was overcast and just drizzling.  The air feels good to breathe and it makes my hair curl.  But now it gives my legs fits!  I know ahead of time when the clouds are coming because my legs start folding up.  And when the rain comes down I feel a buzz that starts in my toes and goes up.  It is so strange...and annoying.  In a way it is depressing because, like I said, I used to love that weather.  I still kinda like it since it gives me a reason to drink beer.  Two beers stops the buzzing and three makes my legs relax.  Strange that when I buzz...they don't!

I also notice that they don't like changes in weather...so its lucky I live in Florida.  Does anyone else find that barometic pressure affects their condition?

The answer is oh yeah maybe I could be a professional weathercaster based upon how much I hurt when the weather changes. Hey I can match any forcast days before it is given

But I have to know can you feel and know ahead of time that a hurrciane is arriving there? I'd have to predict a Tatsumi and we have not hade one on over a few h8undred years so I have nothing to compare it to feeling wise LOL.

I have wondered just how much beer it would take to get thru a hurricane!  Might have to resort to whiskey....    Thank Goodness hurricane season was mild this year.

i feel unwell on rainy days and my feet get cold when it's, ugh, cold. i feel energetic in the late spring and the early fall. i like the summer as well--anything that prevents me from being cold and allows me to wear light clothes.
