This really has to do with my daily commute and I’d like to hear any others that run into this sort of stuff at the top of the only place we may board a bus or train the wheel chair ramp. I went onto the train the other day at the top of the wheel chair ramp because well it is the only way I can board the train. Well the train may or may not hit the spot where they put the plank across to from the said train car to the platform. There is usually one old guy and I’m another one with a host of other people that use the ramp plank and platform to board the train.
I usually arrive at that platform about 3 minutes before the train arrives by design, (it takes me that long to unload from my truck and get up there) so more or less I am always the last to arrive go figure. Anyway the train over shot and the plank was about 1 foot off of the guy standing on the ramp and he is always the first one standing on the ramp but it was directly in front of me so I went first. This guy had a fit about standing on the ramp first etc.  So I listened to his stuff and the conductor was standing there about how long he stood who was right here? Did I cut into line after all there are many more places this man could have entered the train yet chooses the only ramp I have into the train? Was he out of line and are people that are AB and cut off the only access point’s people in chairs, is he first or should I be?

I'll share my shout down after I get more input.

I use the train on a regular basis, and I have come across this situation multiple times.  IMO, people using wheelchairs/assistive devices should be allowed to go first.  It tends to take longer to load us, so it would make more sense to load us all first, then allow ambulatory people on.  I'm sure this would piss off a lot of ABs, but that's just because they tend to have a sense of entitlement over PWDs.  When I have tried to get on a train and an AB tries to cut ahead of me, the conductors have always called them out and forced them to wait.

I'd have told him that I stopped worry about being cut in line when I was 12 years old.  Then ask him "when will he stop worrying about it" and ignore him.  He'll get over it.

Desdan, Do you have live in aide and have most of your needs taken care of , ........................ or is your day tough to get through all day ..................... and this is just one more difficulty/annoyance on a long list............... ............................... Perhaps rude people would be less annoying if the many struggles of disability were taken care of and a smaller part of the day?

I think I would have had to tell that guy I grew up a long time ago and didn't have time to wait for him to do the same. Just my personal oppion.
