i was diagnosed with Juvenile RA when i was 2. to cut a long story short, my joins eventually "froze" (became contracted or whatever the term is) and i've had no use of my legs and very limited use of my arms for pretty much the rest of my time. i'm 26 now. anyway, has anyone seen any resources/articles on immobilized joints in adults when the illness is not actually active anymore?

also, are there any useful journals on RA around?

Have you checked the archives here on RA?  There was a long discussion about a year ago from a teenager diagnosed with it....I tried to find it under "Help I'm scared" but that may not have been the title...but it was something like that.

RA runs in my family....like menopause and SCI aren't enough to deal with!   My sister was wheelchair bound but after taking Methotrexate she got mobile.  It's chemotherapy with all the side effects, but it got her out of a chair.

Personally I believe in vitamin therapy and there is research about massive doses of vitamin C being beneficial.  Wish I could pinpoint these for you.   But the internet is a wonderful thing, I mean, Google it!
