Yesterday I ran into someone I knew at Walmart ,(was there to pick up some groceries  for Mrs. while she was at a class to meet NYS certification to maintain her license as a health care worker). She noticed my arm trembling .I just said that right now the doctors were treating the tremor with carbo/levodopa and triheyphenidyl , but that a definitive diagnosis hadn`t been made yet.Since she works in the medical profession, she knew exactly what I might be diagnosed with and wished me success in treating the tremors. For some reason, I felt better afterwards.          Big Smile                                                 ollie

Awesome!   Comfort can come in many forms.  Just knowing that someone "gets it".....helps.

Have a good day!  Ollie  Smile

I had an interesting conversation with the neurologist this afternoon. I guess some patterns are emrging in regard to the tremor. When I take the meds, it takes a while for them to kick in.I seem to have a two hour window when I`m almost free of tremors, then  they pickup again as the meds start to wear off.

So now I `m going to start taking the meds four times a day. He suggested 8am, 12 noon, 4pm and 8pm. That might just work out for me.It`s worth a try. So I`m going try it this way and call the neurologist back in a week.

I went to the Parkinson`s support group this afternoon. It seemed like a pretty positive group. After everbody introduced themselves. we did  some exercises ( Again. -exercise twice in one day ?  I had plenty of exercise at the cardio rehab in the AM.) but actually some of them were fun. I also got a lot of informative literature. I was glad that it didn`t turn out to be something where everybody just sits around feeling sorry for themselves.

Actually I feel a little sorry for the folks that run the cardio rehab. We are supposed to tell them everytime we change meds or dosages and it seems like everytime I go there, they have to change some of their paperwork.I`ll probably wind up being one of their favorite people, right?        Stick out tongue           Something tells me it`s probably time to bring some more Dunkin Donuts for the staff. Cool                                                 ollie

I came, I saw, I didn`t get out of there unscathed.

My Friends  HI I have parkinson"s for ages ...

When I was very young my dad noticed me always having tremors in my arms / hands  in my right side and my leg would give out ... It kinda bothered me as a teen I thought it might be My Nerves I didnt think much about it . My dad thought back then I just had a weak knee or sore arms being I am very athletic ...... Played lots of girls basketball and tennis and all them years I didnt know the Thing .....

Took me long time while some neurologist somehow found out my problem I had all them years when I was admitted in hospital for a seisure ... I passed out and somehow eneded up in a hospital Dont remember anything Which is a good thing IMOP

My dad came in my hospital room and said to me relax Judy it'll be ok

     He said I had parkinsons

My point is it is ok and IMOP it wont kill you Dont worry about it  live life to the fullest

I am on meds for it now and Still lead a fun life

At least I found som root to my problem  I had  in my teens and no one knew ... And I mean I just thought I was  not the fastest kid on the block  or good @ sports but These tremors were natural to me .

I dont let things like that bother me How could I when I lived with it for 30 years or more un noticed

My back / neck bother me more than anything else  from the surgery for broken neck / back  and my recent bladder surgery lol  the parkinsons I can live with

Now When my hands , fingers  or legs twitch alot I know what the problem is and it's ok I just chill out and relax . What else can ya do ? I've lived with it all my life

Give all my Trust to God Above and I havent  let it beat me down

Hang in there and think positive

Ollie Any time you feel like talking write me a post or something and remember It's all Ok

I'll be there ready to write you and anyone about this neurologic stuff  .
