When I was a kid, my parents, brother, and I would go camping nearly every summer.  We would pick a destination, such as a theme park or national monument, and drive there.  Every night along the way, we would camp at the nearest KOA with a large tent and have a great time.  Back then, though, I didn't use my chair as much as I do now.  We weren't quite 'roughing it' since we always brought a bunch of food that didn't need to be cooked, and the KOAs always had decent bathrooms.

One of my favorite times was when we took a 2-month trip up the east coast.  We went to DC, Hersheyland, and a few family members' homes in West Virginia.  Most of the time, we were camping at night.  We didn't have time to go to some of the places on our list, including NYC, but we still had a great time.
