New to Disaboom? Welcome!

Hello...I met Nightengale on another board and one of our friends directed me here.

 I'm a 20 year old student studying French and Library Science...I have four dogs (two Bassets and two Dachshunds) and I take photos for fun.  I also decorate cakes, make cards and collect Asian Ball Jointed Dolls.

 I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome which is a genetic disorder that affects the way my body makes collagen.  As a result I have skin problems, blood vessel problems, and I deal with multiple jonit dislocations every day.

 I also have a vision impairment and when I was nine I developed Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis...later I developed Dysautonomia.

This past summer I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder.

 I have a lot of other disabilities as well but those are the major ones.

Welcome and glad you're here.  I'm Bev.  Had polio at age 5, will be 60 on the 24th.  These are a great group of people and you will find all kinds of support if you need. 

Hi ReineDeLaSeine........and a big welcome to disaboom........for which we have Nightengale......to thank !.....I am an older female paraplegic.......from a horse accident 26 years ago.....I'm an x-nurse { last practiced 30 years ago }.....a sculptor and artist.......batik painting......not lately.......but still love and care for quite a few animals.......mainly.....feral cats !........you have quite a few challenges........but from the upbeat tone of your post......I'd say you're handling your stuff.......real well.......but......if you ever need to vent.......just let it all hang out.....I hope you'll do it here........where I think you'll find all sorts af kind, caring people........again........welcome.........peace and love.......Norma

Hi RDLS, Welcome to Disaboom! I am glad you gave us a try. Nice bunch of people here and lots of support. I have MS and am para. You have a lot going on! You also have a great attitude, good for you! Looking forward to getting to know you.
