John Best, writer of a blog called "Hating Autism" and one of the reasons I do not use my real name on this blog, is at it again. I will not link to him from this blog, but his calling Ari Ne'eman a "psychopath" and "not really autistic" once again, and calling for Newsweek to not publish their interview with Ne'eman. In the past he has made death threats against Ne'eman, Amanda Baggs, and other autistic self-advocates.
Other people have already said most of what I want to say, so I have a simple question.
Imagine Best is the father of a quadriplegic child instead of an autistic one. If he had a blog called "Hating Paralysis" where he threatened the lives of paraplegics because they can use their arms, making them "not really disabled" in his mind.
Would he still get the positive attention he does? Would people step up to defend him? Or would he be sued for libel as soon as he started telling lies about Ron Kovic?
