Watching Pat Buchanan and Rachael Maddow argue about
electoral politics is by far the most enjoyable experience to be had listening
to political pundits ramble. In fact, it might be the only one.
Last night, in the midst of the MSNBC
political coverage, the two got into it about the importance of Hillary Clinton's
Pennsylvania victory. At one point,
Buchanan interrupted Maddow and urged her to "quit the Marxist
dialectic for a minute." The expression on
her face is priceless.
If you're not familiar with Pat Buchanan, here's a brief
bio. He has approximately 47 years of
journalism experience, was Richard Nixon's speechwriter and right-hand man, and
has run for president three times—often to the Right of the Republican
Party.
Meanwhile, Maddow is the fresh-faced 35-year-old
ultra-liberal host of the radio show Air
America. She's extremely intelligent, completely fearless,
and an ardent supporter of Barack Obama.
She's also a passionate HIV activist, and a lesbian.
Anyway, enough with the details, here's the clilp. The Marxist comment is around 1:20.
