About Me

Born and raised in the Chicagoland area. I've a Masters degree in writing and have been teaching seventh-grade English at the same middle school, in Illinois, for 25 years. I'm also pursuing a doctorate degree. However, my greatest achievement has been watching my son grow and achieve his goals. He was diagnosed with SMA when he was only nine months of age. Doctors told me his life expectancy would only be two years. He celebrated his 31st birthday in July 2007! He is my inspiration and hero.
