About Me
Life's a trip. At first you think you have it figured out and the next thing you know, you don't have a fricken clue.
Where to start about me. Well I grew up in California, Texas, and Utah where I currently live and always will. Skateboarding, Snowboarding, BMX and Motocross is what I have always been into. Extreme sports are the forever growing sports of our generation.
June 1st 1994 my life took a turn that I never thought would ever turn out like it has. I was on a mountain road in Eastern Utah late one night when some stray horses had gotten out of one of the local ranchers stables and were loose on the road and I ran into one of them. I was life flighted to a local hospital where I was classified a quadriplegic and have spent the last 13 years in a wheelchair paralyzed from the chest down with limited use of my arms and hands. It changed my life forever. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. I don't expect you to understand that unless you have been in my shoes or have experienced what I have or have seen what I've seen. It's been amazing.
I have always believed that what ever hardships or challenges we face in life, something good will always come out of the something that was bad that we went through. Then in turn the something that was bad ended up being something good. I have always been blessed with the greatest gifts.
6 years ago I started competing professionally in the extreme sport of rockcrawling. I am the first and only quadriplegic in the world to compete professionally. Since then I have qualified and gone to 4 Supercrawl world championships and finished 7th in the nation this past season in 2006 in the UROC (United Rockcrawling & Off-road Challenge) series.
I've been exposed to an abundant amount of media coverage over the last 5 years. From interviews in DirtSports, Crawl, 4Wheeldrive Sports Utility, Trophy Hunter, Eastmans Journal, Hunting & Fishing News, Hunting Illustrated, Wheelin Sportsman, and Sports and Spokes magazines. Ive done interviews and different TV programs on ESPN2, The Speed channel, Spike TV, The Sportsmans channel, The Mens channel, Fox, numerous news stations and TV commercials across the country.
In 2004 I came out with my first book entitled "OVER THE TOP" The Clay Egan Story, Pocket Book Edition on my life story. I am currently working on a feature film on my life story and hopefully will be in production within the next year.
I spend most of my time pursuing my careers and promoting my business adventures. I love to work, meeting people, the outdoors, hunting, fishing, ROCKCRAWLING, racing, music, going to concerts, building my businesses, and competing. I'm basically on Disaboom to promote Clay Egan Racing my rockcrawling/racing team.
