About Me

Hi My name is Karl. Im 32 years old, live in Massachusetts and have Spina Bifida. My injury is in the L3/L4 range and for the most part I use a wheelchair but can walk with crutches. I have my own car and do lead a pretty active life. I like to go to local bars (classy ones not dives) and check out local bands. I used to write for a local music magazine so I know many bands in my area. I work for the federal government for the U.S. Department of Transportation. I'm an information technology specialist that builds web site and does some graphic design. It's a good job, good environment and I really enjoy it. I have two bachelor's degrees...the latest one being a B.S. in Information technology. I focused my IT carriculum around Web design and you can see some of what I've done by going to www.karlrusso.com. My other degree is in music business. Music is a huge part of my life and has been for a long time as I've been playing guitar for 18 years and also play a little bit of piano. It's my dream to become successful in the music industy at some point and I'm sure I'd impress just about everyone when they see me roll out onto the stage and begin to bang out a tune:) I've recorded some of the songs I've written and frequently write new material to keep honing my craft. Some of the songs I've written can be heard on my MySpace page at www.myspace.com/kfr676. Aside from music I'm a huge Boston sports fan...mainly the Red Sox and Patriots. I joined this site to meet other people with physical challenges. At this point I really don't associate too much with other physically challenged people other than belonging to an online group for people with Spina Bifida in my local area (which is how I found this site) so I thought it would be a good idea to sign up. So, here I am. I'm looking forward to talking with you.
