About Me

Hey, I grew up in Florida with my parents and brother. I was born with multiple birth defects. I still do not know the condition that I have or if I even have a condition. Anyway, I grew up not really feeling limited or handicapped but that would change. I graduated high school, then went to junior college where I got a A.A. degree in Mass Communications TV and Film. College was the best time of my life. I got my first job on campus where I experienced discrimination and I had my first steady boyfriend. I learned to drive a car and after graduation I moved into my own apartment. Then I got the bright idea to have my right leg lengthened, big mistake, and now 10 years and 2 fixators later I still need a wheelchair or a walker at home. I am extremely overweight which puts a strain on my heart. Anyway, in 2004 I married and now we live close to my parents because Mom is still needed to help care for some of my daily needs while my hubby is at work. I am homebound, can no longer drive, have no friends and I just spend my days on the internet or watching TV. I have no help or support for anything. I am here for support and for information.
