New to Disaboom? Welcome!

Hello everyone, My name is suzee, I am 47 yrs old and live in PA. I have joined the group to learn more about health issues, get advise, to make friends, talk and try to laugh. I have several helath issues. The major ones are: fibromyalgia, Rsd, leaky heart valves, pulmonary hypertension, hypertension, prone to blood clots, and I have many muscle trigger points that I have pain from. I have had 1 lower back fusion, 2 cervical fusions which did not fuse together right so on June 23 I am having surgery to try to correct this and hopefully it will fuse together this time. I use humor as part of the way to deal with the stress of my health issues. I am hoping to make friends. Well I just wanted to intro myself.Suzee

I would like to welcome you to Disaboom. You will find advise, friends and laughs here. We all seem to have several health issues.

 

I have Fibromyalgia and Osteoarthritis. I also had Lumbar 3, 4, 5 and S1 fused together in 2007. It was that surgery that triggered the Fibromonster, but the OA is why I have such a bad back and all other joints. I am 51, but feel like I am 61. lol

 

You should check out our little Village of Fibromites. It is called "Living with the Pain of Fibromyalgia". We all understand the pain that it causes. Hope to see you there!!

Hi Suzee.......welcome to disaboom......I can't wait till you meet Tony......he's out shopping right now.......but.....he shares some of your health issues.......just had a similar type surgery you are describing and most probably......a la our Tony.......will have wonderful suggestions and advice for you. Of course, many of us here are dealing with spinal problems......I am a para of 26 years.........mostly wheelchair bound......but can make short distances with plastic braces called AFO's.......and two canes. I take it this upcoming surgery is to correct something that was done earlier......is that correct ? Anyway.......I'm delighted to meet you and I hope we get to know eachother real well. I`m ollie.I have a number of things going on, the main ones being Heart/lung problems,Darth Vader breathing -irregular, labored, audible -, bilateral lumbar radiculopathy, limited range of motion in right arm and i wear a short brce on my right leg.

I see you have a lot going on with the fusions & the surgeries.At one time I wanted surgery  on my back, not to eliminate pain - usually it dosent_ but to correct weakness in both legs.I change my mind about that when I had surgery for for an intestinal problem and was laid up in bed for 25 days.When I entered the hospital I walked with the aid of a cane.When I was dsicharged they sent me home with a walker.
