Spina Bifida

I am a 28 year old woman with high lumbar spina bifida (about L2 function). I am interested in talking to other women with a similar level of SB about sexual function. Thanks!

Hello and Welcome to Disaboom....I'm 58 and had neuropathy in my legs. Disaboom is more a social group where people just talk...but you most certainly find others with similar issues..(.keeping your thread for others to talk)

Hi!  I am 23 y.o. and have ~L5 spina bifida.  I have yet to have sex, but from what I have read and learned from doctors, those of us w/ lumbar SB can function sexually similarly to women without SB.

HI WHEELIE , I REALY THINK EACH WOMAN AND THERE DISABILITY IS  DIFFERENT  , I ALSO BELIEVE THAT HOW SHE SEE HERSELF IS VERY IMPORTANT AS WELL , I HAVE POLIO AND I NEVER HAD ANY SEXUAL PROBLEMS OTHER THEN NOT BEING ABLE TO GIVE BIRTH , SO I ADOPTED . MY DISABILIY WAS NEVER A PROBLEM  AS FAR AS ENJOYING A SEXUAL RELATIONSHIP ..

I was born with a mild form of Spina Bifida and have had no problems with sexual function. I think it has to do with the individual and what disabilities they might have. The only time I ever had a problem with sex was when my doctor first put me on antidepressants years ago. I had no sex drive whatsoever, but it passed - thank God!
