Good Morning All My Fellow Fibromites,

I just wanted to wish each and everyone of you a Safe and Fun 4th of July!!!! Just think Summer is almost over now that it is July. UGHHHH!!!!!! I still have no tan. I just can't handle the heat anymore. I get a headache and feel sick when I go out. I have a feeling that the pills that I am on is doing this to me. I love having color. I look better and feel better when I have a tan.

Sooooo, What are you all doing this weekend? I am going to a friends and sit around and try and handle the weather. They put on a Fireworks show of their own. They get some really good ones.

Now, what is the weather suppose to be like where you live? It is calling for rain in the morning and afternoon, but it is suppose to clear out just in time for the Fireworks here in Ohio.

Take Care and Gentle Hugs, Sandy

Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

Happy Fourth of July, Village People!

No particular plans, Sandy.  My hubby has to work.....so ......

I'd love to go to the FREE Sheryl Crow concert under the Arch, but:

    1.  I don't do city traffic.

    2.  Parking will be a nightmare

    3.  Too much walking.

    4.  It is supposed to rain.

     5.  We pretty much have to stay home and keep a garden hose handy.  We live in an unincorporated area.......so the laws are "pretty loose" regarding fireworks...and people take advantage of it!!!  We have a tiny little burn hole in our siding from last year!! (Whew....glad it wasn't worse!)  I like to stay home and avoid the drunk drivers.  It is a very real threat around here.  Law Enforcement have been busy already!   I learned that there is always Fireworks to the Boston Pops on TV.......a friend watches it anually.....so I'll have to check it out!  We will no doubt BBQ, Dad or no Dad!

Have a healthy, Happy & SAFE one, Everyone!  :)

    Gentle Hugs & Prayers,

    Valerie

I found this post today on another site, and thought you might like to hear that the fibrobeast is being slain by Savella for some.

"I hope you are all having the same great results. I have never felt better! It's week 9 now and I can actually walk a straight line again, without any fear of falling over! The excruciating pain is GONE, the dizziness GONE, the muscle weakness GONE. I'm so thankful to my Dr. for telling me that I should try Savella. The side effects are totally gone now, too. It took a while, though, so be patient.

By the way...... I discovered one major problem with Savella which I should mention here....... Drug interactions! Tramadol does NOT mix with Savella. Very early on in my treatment I took Tramadol for pain. I had terrible stomach cramps and vomiting, so I did some research recently and found this information about the two drugs interacting:
    http://www.drugs.com/drug-interact...
I doubt that most doctors have had a chance to learn about this bad interaction yet, since Savella is so new. My own Dr. was not aware, either!

The good news is that I no longer need ANY prescription pain medications for my Fibromyalgia. Oh, I do take an occasional dose of Tylenol for my Osteoarthritis on very bad days, but that's it! And to think, I had such a terrible case of Fibro !

Please let me know how your own Savella treatments are going. I want all of you to have the same wonderful results I'm having! I know that a few of you may not tolerate Savella, but please, be sure that your bad experience isn't actually a bad drug interaction like mine was. Many of you are on other meds at the same time, just as I was and interactions can be a strong possibility. You may need to do some research yourselves, if necessary.
I hope to hear from you as your treatments progress. I'm so hopeful for all of you who have begun Savella!
    Hugs to all!"

Hello everyone! I am new to this site, just joined in today. I was just recently diagnosed with FM, but I have also been diagnosed with Lupus and Raynauds disease for 6 years now. I have had FM all along just always blamed it on my lupus. My dr put me on 30mg of cymbalta, but I cannot sleep on it, so I actually feel worse. When I got the diagnosis of FM, I felt relieved, in a way, because someone elso could see the anguish I have been going through, and that it was not "all in my head". I am in the process of trying to get my dr to put me on lyrica, as I have read good and bad about it, but mostly good. At this point, I am willing to try anything. I have an almost 6 month old child, and every day it is getting harder to keep up with her. I guess that I have been battling depression as well, just didn't realize it until my husband brought it up. I know that I have a LOT of anxiety, about anything and everything. I stay at home most every day, and to boot, my apt does not get sunshine to pour thru the windows, being block by other buildings, and I think that has a lot to do with my depression. Does anyone else have poor reflexes with FM? My dr tested my arms, and I little to no reflexes in them. Do yal know what this has to do with FM, if anything? Any one else out there with FM and lupus? Thanks for entertaining my words, it is nice to know there are others out there. I feel misunderstood more times than not.

An update on my doctor exams:  I had the colonoscopy; the exam revealed three "tiny" polyps which were removed.  The blood tests show that other than fibromyalgia, arthritis, and high blood pressure, I'm in excellent health!  I'm taking meds for the HBP but the fibro still seems to be getting worse.  I played weekend warrior yesterday--finished putting up rain gutters, cut the grass and trimmed, piecemeal over most of the daytime, since it was so bloody hot, and have been paying the price.  But it had to be done and no one else wants to do it.  Does anyone else have problems with vision after being exposed for long periods of time to bright sunlight?  Or maybe it was dehydration, although I tried to avoid that.

Have a nice holiday.  We're going down to church for an ice cream social this evening, and then watch fireworks from the parking lot.
