After about a month-long wait, and what I can imagine was a very long and arduous tailoring process (as all their suits are made in Thailand), I’ve finally received my custom SMOKIN black suit (jacket/pants combo) from the adapted clothing company Legawear. See the jacket I’m wearing in the pic? This jacket is one of the greatest pieces of clothing I’ve ever bought and the reason is simple: Precise tailoring.
From perfectly long sleeves that hit my wrists even when my elbows are bent to a shorter overall length that flatters my shortened torso because I’m sitting, it’s all about exact tailoring when it comes to looking great - especially when wearing a suit - in a wheelchair. As you can tell from the pic, I chose 3 buttons for my suit, as well as a no breast pockets (which I think are ridiculously useless for women), and the back of the jacket is a few inches shorter since length back there in unnecessary when you‘re sitting all day. The suit has a nice satin lining as well, and this adorable tagline knitted on the inside of the jacket (just in case some biotch tries to take it. Ha):

I really wanted to put the entire suit on today, but since it’s been 90 and muggy here in Minneapolis, it’s OMGZ way too hot to wear a black suit all day. So instead, I decided to just wear the jacket, and pair it with my black and white striped skirt from Victoria’s Secret (cotton/lycra mix, and fabulous for women who use wheelchairs since it hugs your body like a glove), go bare legged, and wear a long purple tank top from Walmart underneath. The jacket felt great with the outfit since it fit so well, and I’m jazzed to wear this to a professional event soon!
Look for another blog on the entire suit (including pants) as soon as it cools down <grin>.
