Championship Off Road Racing brings high-action, four-wheel motorsports, including two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive trucks, to the closed course off-road arena. With the early conclusion of the 2008 Championship Off Road Racing season, CORR has announced the season champions and Rookies of the Year for all classes.

The Pro 4 class was a tight race between drivers Carl Renezeder, Rick Huseman and Scott Douglas. At the end of the last weekend of racing in Chula Vista, California, the championship battle ended in a dead heat between Huseman and Renezeder, with Renezeder taking the Pro 4 Championship. Mike Jenkins, who finished 11th, took Pro 4 Rookie of the Year.

Rob MacCachren dominated from early on in the Pro 2 class, taking the first event with back to back wins. MacCachren clinched the championship over Renezeder, with Todd LeDuc third. MacCachren’s consistency put him on top of the podium six times during the season, and he scored a total of 10 top-10 finishes while racing in the largest and most competitive Pro 2 field ever. Mike Johnson was named Rookie of the Year with an impressive seventh place series finish in a season that regularly saw more than 20 trucks take the green flag. Kevin Davis was both the season champion and the Rookie of the Year in the Pro Spec class.

Marty Hart took home the Pro Lite class championship. Hart demonstrated a consistency that put him in the top five 10 times and on the podium on the podium eight times to complement his two wins. Kincaid and Ampudia finished in second and third place. Todd Cuffaro had an outstanding season in which he found himself in the sixth position in the series standings, good enough to earn Rookie of the Year in the Pro Lite class. It was pretty cool to see Marty Hart do well this year, because he used to compete with me in the WEROCK rockcrawling series. He was always a top finisher there as well.

Champions:
Pro 4—Carl Renezeder, Number 1
Pro 2—Rob MacCachren, Number 21
Pro Spec—Kevin Davis, Number 85
Pro Lite—Marty Hart, Number 15
Pro Buggy—Rob MacCachren, Number 921
Single Buggy—Bryan Freeman, Number 307
UTV—Chad George, Number 624
Kart Jr. 1—Trent Williams, Number 225
Kart Jr. 2—Geoffrey Cooley, Number 409
Kart Modified—Parker Grabowski, Number 500

Another year has come and gone and the Tecate Score baja 1000, again proved to be the biggest off-road race of the year. With shootings, kidnappings and robberies in the past. This year needless to say was a safe and successful race.

The world’s best known and most prestigious desert race started for the 34th time and finished for the 19th time in Ensenada, 65 miles south of the U.S border at San Diego.

As the final checkered flag dropped Saturday evening for the last of 227 official finishers in the 41st annual Tecate SCORE Baja 1000, it was obvious that another incredible chapter had been added to the history books of this popular desert race in the majestic Baja California, Mexico, peninsula.

The 347 starters are the most ever in race history for a ‘loop’ race and the third most of any race in the 41-year history of the event. The 227 finishers are also the third-most in event history. The finishing percentage this year was an impressive 65.4 percent.

Starting his 71st birthday Saturday, veteran desert racer Rod Hall lit the candles on his celebration during the final hours of the legendary race by finishing second in Stock Mini in a Hummer H3. With a race-record 19 class wins in this race, Hall, who is scheduled to reduce his racing schedule to include only the SCORE Baja 1000 next year, is the only person in the storied history of this event who has raced in all 41 events since it began in 1967.

In addition to the U.S. and host Mexico, the 24 total countries with entries in this year’s race were: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Britain, Canada, Columbia, Denmark, El Salvador, France, Germany, Guatemala, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Panama, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Uruguay.

This years winners are as follows. Motor Cycle: Robby Bell, Kendall Norman and Johnny Campbell on a Honda. Their time was 12:29:10. This makes for Johnny Campbell’s 11th win in the Baja. He has won it more than anyone ever. Then in the Trophy Truck class, Roger Norman and Larry Roeseler in a Ford truck won it in there class in12:40:33. Someday I hope I get the chance to race this historic race.

This year’s Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 desert race will be televised on a delayed basis as a one-hour NBC Sports special for the fifth consecutive year, airing on Sunday, Dec. 14 at 1 p.m. (EST) on the NBC Television Network. It will also air on a delayed basis outside of the U.S. on ESPN International. (Info courtesy of Score-International.)

Last night we got invited to go to the viewing of the new Greg Godfrey, Travis Pastrana, Nitro Circus, Thrillbillies Double wide movie premier. The show was bad fricken ass. The whole Nitro Circus crew was there in full color. Travis came in with a new cast on his hand. He had broken it on a stunt earlier that day. The place was packed.

For those of you that aren’t familiar with the Thrillbilly videos, they are crazy. All of these crazy guys and girls do some of the sickest stunts. Stunts that make you think, who thinks of these things. Some of those stunts include, Travis riding a big wheel off of a 1000 foot tall rock wall in the Grand Canyon and then throwing a parachute and floating to the bottom. Jolene the Nitro Girl, better know as Jimmy pulls off a back flip on her dirt bike for the Evil Kneaval tribute. She is the first chick to pull off a back flip on a bike. She is the gnarliest action sports chick you’ve ever scene and she’s really cute too.

There was a sequence in there where Greg Godfrey and Travis Pastrana were down at the Baja 1000 in 2007 and they were doing what’s called Iron manning the race. When ever you here someone talking about Iron manning the Baja 1000 it means they rode it solo. Meaning they raced the whole 1000 miles alone without any co-drivers or breaks. This particular year the Baja 1000 was actually about 1280 miles long. It varies a little bit each year. To make a long story short Travis was into the race about 1080 miles and had been on his bike a total of like 30 hours without sleep or any breaks other than to refuel and change tires, when his motor just seezed up. He was done with only about 200 miles to the finish. Greg forged on. When Greg finally crossed the finish line he had not only won the race but he set a world record for the first ever to win the race on a motorcycle while Iron manning the race. It took him just over 40 hours on his bike alone. That is one of the biggest wins in the history of the Baja 1000. I was talking to Greg’s wife Shelly about it last night and she said that Greg slept for about four days straight after the race.

All in all, the movie was a smash hit. If ya ever get a chance to watch it, do it. You won’t be disappointed. You can also see different trailers of the film on YouTube on the Nitro Circus page. This was one of the best, if not the best action sports film I have ever watched.

Until next week, always “PUSH THE LIMITS” because life’s too short not to………...

This past week I got the call of my career. The guys from Godfrey Entertainment in association with MTV and the new Nitro Circus series called and asked if I wanted to be on their new show for MTV. Did I really have to think about it that much? I THINK NOT! I said hell ya, I wanna do it.

I’ve spoken about Greg Godfrey in the past. He is a guy that a lot of people have been trying to get us together for quite sometime. Well I finally got to meet him and be on his show. The planets totally aligned that day. But to make the day and the shoot even better I got to shoot with Travis Pastrana.

The new Nitro Circus series is a 12 episode series that will begin to air on MTV on about the 1st of February every Sunday night at 10:00 PM. The show is kind of a Jack Ass meets Crusty Demons of Dirt. There is a group of eight crazies including Travis and each week they go to different places and come up with all kinds of crazy things to race. I can’t say much about the show that I am involved in but they had me come out and do some of my rockcrawling stuff. It was way cool. I will say this. My buggy ended up in not very good shape. Hahahaha….. But I wasn’t driving.

All in all it was a way fun day. The Godfrey Crew were great. Travis was way cool. Just a totally laid back dude who just wants to live life to the fullest and all of the rest of the Nitro Circus freaks were way nice. This trip was definitely a highlight of my career. As soon as I know when my show airs I will post it.

Until next week, always “PUSH THE LIMITS” because life’s too short not to………...

Well I just got back from the SEMA show over the weekend. I have to say it was another festive time. Me and my team pulled into Vegas about 2:00 PM on Tuesday and headed right for the Toyo Tires booth. When we got there all of the Toyo Tire models were there signing their posters and the big wigs were mingling and talking about the new tires coming out in 2009. Well as we went around the other side of their booth Supercross legend Jeremy McGrath was there signing posters of him racing in the CORR series. I had never met Jeremy in person before but since he and I both are sponsored Toyo Tire drivers I stopped over and introduced myself. I have to say he was really cool. You never know what it’s going to be like when ever you meet someone like Jeremy, but he was really a good guy.

After we visited him for a while I went around and visited my other sponsors to make sure we were good for support for next season. While we were over at the Maxxis Tire booth talking to some friends I ran into a guy that goes by the name of Pistol Pete. His real name is Pete Sorehn. Pete is a Trophy Truck driver in the Score series. Now the trophy truck class is the top dog of all desert racing. These trucks range any where from $500,000 to $2,000,000 and can travel at speeds over 140 miles per hour across the desert. Pete’s truck was on display at the Maxxis booth. It had balls and testosterone written all over it. It was badass! Pete is kind of a funny character. He’s not your average trophy truck driver. He doesn’t come from money like most of the other racers do. He has worked his way up the ropes with being a good driver and a master at marketing himself. Pete and I are a lot alike. I didn’t come from money either. I had to work my way up the ropes the hard way too. Pete and I instantly became friends and spent the whole rest of the week hanging out together. He would teach me all he new about desert racing and I taught him about rockcrawling and rockracing. It’ll be interesting to see how he and I end up this next season because he and I will be racing against each other in the King of The hammers race. So check back next year after the KOH race to see how Pete and I fair.

It draws the industry’s brightest minds and hottest products to one place, the Las Vegas Convention Center. As part of the AAIW, the SEMA Show attracts more than 120,000 industry leaders from over 100 countries for unlimited profit opportunities in the automotive, truck and SUV, and RV markets. SEMA Show 2007 drew over 60,000 domestic and international buyers through two million square feet of exhibits. The displays are divided into 10 sections, and a New Products Showcase features more than 2,000 newly introduced parts, tools and components. In addition, the SEMA Show provides attendees with educational seminars, product demonstrations, special events, networking opportunities and more.

Every year SEMA has so many cool things that it’s hard to go through all of the exhibits and see everything. All of the latest inventions, to fancy show cars, to the manufacturers concept cars are just a few things that you can see at SEMA. Chip Foose from the TV show Overhaulin is usually there filming one of his episodes out in the parking lot in a giant tent. Every year the SEMA show attracts all kinds of celebrities. Some have vehicles in the show others are there endorsing different products and some just show up to check out the latest shwag. I’ve met everyone from Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, Mario Andretti the greatest Indy racer of all time to guys like Robby Gordon, Baja 1000 Legend and NASCAR Racer. Jay Leno, Paul Walker, Travis Barker, and Snoop Dog are regulars at SEMA. This year Danica Patrick, Richard Petty and Jeremy Mcgrath will be on location just to name a few.

I have to go down every year with my race team to network. It’s just a great time to catch all of my sponsors in one spot, especially where most of them are from all over the country. It also allows me to network with potential new sponsors. If you have never been, it definitely is must see at least once in your life. Next week I’ll report on what I see. Have a Happy Halloween.

Until next week, always “PUSH THE LIMITS” because life’s too short not to………...

ROCK ON! #90

The *ROCKSTAR*

The Rubicon is widely known as one of the most beautiful trails in North America, if not the world. It is also one of the most historic trails in our amazing 4 wheel drive/off-roading culture. It has caught the eye of many, including manufacturers with branding such as the Jeep Rubicon, Honda Rubicon, etc.
We are all aware that great trails like the Rubicon can be enjoyed by all with 4x4s. Every true trail rider in the nation savors the access that we have to this trail and others like it, but there is a part of the national demographic that doesn't get to experience such great things like we do. This is where Disabled Sports USA (DSUSA) with Jason and Andrea Berger step in.

With the help of many volunteers like the WeBuilt 4x4 Club and local enthusiasts, the Bergers and Disabled Sports USA are able to take many people with disabilities into the Rubicon to grasp that of which would be otherwise virtually concealed from them. The Washoe Area Retarded Citizens (WARC) were in attendance with a group of around ten people. Some of the WARC people had participated in previous trips, and some had not. The trip also included 8 other DSUSA participants. For the brave group that toured in, it was something they will cherish forever.
The trip started off at the Chalet on the Lake Tahoe side of the Rubicon. After a morning briefing at the staging area, they took a slow cruise down to Lookout Point for an afternoon snack. After that it was a ride down Cadillac Hill to the Dirty Dozen campgrounds at Rubicon Springs. Later that night they let some of the participants drive the vehicles. Sure, it was over a small rock that almost any regular 4x4 could drive over... But to these guys and gals, it was the greatest thing in the world, and an experience they would hold with them forever.

The next morning entailed a trip out the same way we came in and even though it was a 3-day weekend, you can just never get enough of the Rubicon. For the fortunate few that came with the Bergers and DSUSA, it was the trip of a lifetime.

Until next week, always “PUSH THE LIMITS” because life’s too short not to………...

The time is finally here. I am going to drive to Laramie, Wyoming tomorrow to pick up my new buggy that they built for me over the last year. Just to bring you up to speed on this project, about a year ago I contacted my good buddy Jessi Combs from Spike TV’s Extreme 4x4 about an idea that I had. Jessi got all her welding and fabrication experience through her schooling at Wyotech. Wyotech is a technical college which specializes in automotive technology.

So I call Jessi up one day and I asked her if she knew if Wyotech had ever done a complete build of a competition buggy. I asked her what she thought about me partnering up with Wyotech on this kind of project. She said she didn’t know of anything but that she thought it was a great idea. So she said she would call the right person for me and pitch the idea to them. So to make a long story short Jessi made the unbelievable happen and Wyotech agreed to build my new rig. So for the last year the Wyotech students and instructors have been building my new rig and it is finally ready for me to pick up. I am so stoked.

My new buggy has all of the goodies in it. It’s built with an LS2 motor with 550 horses under the hood, built by Turn Key Engine Supply Co. It has a turbo 350 tranny built by Hughes Transmissions and a transfer case built by Advance Adapters. Teraflex donated the axles, Crane Hi Clearance Steering took care of the knuckles, the gears are by Yukon Gear & Axles, the lockers are made by Detroit, the full hydraulic steering system is made by PSC and we put a set of Fox Shox on it. It has wheels made by Trail Ready Beadlocks and Toyo Tires Open Country 40x17x13.5 tires. Tattons Drivelines supplied the drivelines, Mastercraft Seats hooked us up with seats and harnesses and Summit Machine took care of all of the custom aluminum. Steve at Power Tank hooked us up with our onboard air system, Paraquad gave us the hand controls and Ramsey supplied the Winch. Then last Amsoil supplied all of our synthetic fluids.

Wyotech has been great to work with and I’m very thankful for what they have done for me. Rick Junkermeire was the project manager and did a phenomenal job getting this thing built. Check out the links below to see the progress of this whole partnership.
http://news.wyotech.edu/post/2008/01/rock-racer-build http://news.wyotech.edu/post/2008/07/rock-racer-phenom http://news.wyotech.edu/post/2008/03/rock-racer-wyotech http://news.wyotech.edu/post/2008/01/rock-racer-video

While I was there I ran into my friends at Pirate4x4.com. Pirate 4x4 is the largest online 4x4 forum in the world. They have millions of subscribers and get millions of hits every month to their web site. On their website you can find anything you want to know about competition rockcrawling to weekend type 4x4ing and you can communicate back and forth with anyone who is a member. Pirate 4x4 even has their own online 4x4 TV shows called Pirate TV.

Pirate 4x4 is run by a dude name Lance Clifford and a guy who goes by Camo. They reside in Georgetown, CA which is basically not to far from the world renowned Rubicon trail. The Rubicon is respected by many as the gnarliest trail and one of the elite rockcrawling trails in the world.

While I was at the expo I did some interviews for Pirate TV and their show with Jessi Combs from Extreme 4x4 that used to be on Spike TV. She has been helping the guys at Pirate 4x4 as the host of their new series. At night after the expo, I found myself hanging out with Lance, Camo and Jessi every night. Well after a long weekend of getting lost on the California freeway system and show furring their drunk butts around, they approached me with an opportunity of a life time. Camo approached me about co-driving with him this November at the Baja 1000 in the Jeep Speed class. This has been a dream of mine since I was a kid. This race has been raced by everyone from legends like Walker Evans, Ivan Stewart, Robby Gordon, to celebrities like James Garner, Steve McQueen and Jessi James. Even freestyle motocross legends like Travis Pastrana, Mike Metzger, Kenny Bartram and Dust To Glory’s star Mike “Mouse” McCoy show up and race every year.

Unfortunately it’s only 4 weeks away and that is just not enough time for me to get ready. I told Camo, next year for sure. That way I can prepare for it better. I’m pretty bummed that I can’t race this year but I was honored that they would ask me to be apart of their team for such a historic race. If you have never check out Pirate 4x4 you should stop by some time and check it out. Go to www.pirate4x4.com.

We got there on Friday afternoon and headed straight to Currie Enterprises for the King of The Hammers party. Currie Enterprise is the leader in after market rear ends, differential parts and off-road 4x4 suspension products in the race and off-road industry.

Currie Enterprise hosted the King of The Hammers party to show case the new DVD documentary that was on the King of The Hammers race in February 2008. At the party I ran in to my old buddy, Jessi Combs that used to host Extreme 4x4 on Spike TV. We did some interviews together for Pirate 4x4’s new TV series and caught up. She is such a cutie and just a down right cool girl.

On Friday we spent the day over at the expo networking and tracking down some new sponsors. We ended up putting a deal together with Allied Wheels and a company named Powertank. Which make onboard air systems so that you can run air tools and inflate tires on the trail if needed. Pretty cool system.

Then on Saturday they announced the driving order for the King of The Hammers race in February. There is a hundred teams scheduled to race this race and we drew the fourth row in 8th position. It was crazy. We are all the way at the front of the pack straight out of the gate. We are so stoked to race this race.

After the drawing we continued to network and ran into my friend Ricky James. Ricky is a paraplegic who still races motocross and won the silver medal at the x-games this past August. He is one cool kid. The last person I ran into that day was another old friend of mine, which was the Legend, Walker Evans. Walker is my biggest hero in the off-road world. He’s been around forever and is the man in the off-road world.

All in all the weekend was a huge success. We made great contacts and had a blast hanging out with some old friends.

This happened to be PROROCK’S national final. So all of PROROCK’S top teams in the country were there and Crawl magazine was there covering the event.

So we are sitting at our first obstacle for the day and we are up fourth. The first guy goes and rolls his rig after the first set of gates. So I’m thinking this is going to be a pretty hard day. Well we get to our turn and we decided to take a different line. It ended up being the right choice. We made it through the course and got the best score for that run. To make a long story short, our first day we did well on all four of our runs and finished out the day in second place.

On Sunday we didn’t start off the day so well. We get to our first obstacle for the day and on our first section we almost roll and ended up in a really bad spot. We tried getting out of the predicament that we were in, but we didn’t and we pointed out. Not the way I like to start my days off.

On our second run we got about half way through the obstacle and I bent a wheel and all of the water in my front driver side tire started spewing out like a geyser. So now we have a flat tire and we still had half of the obstacle to get through. Well, we ended up getting through the course and actually still made a decent score.

So we hurry back to the truck and get the tire fixed so we can get ready for our third run. This time we start into our course and about ¾ of the way through I break my steering ram and now we have limited power steering. I don’t know if you have ever driven a truck with 37 inch tires and had the power steering go out, it’s next to impossible to steer. We battled through that course and actually finished that with a decent score also. After that run we scurried around to find someone with a welder and got my steering ram fixed so we could get to our next course.

Well I finished all five of my runs that day. Despite my numerous issues throughout the day we still were able to hold on for a third place finish for the weekend. It was nice to be on the podium again. It had been a while.

Ok so I went down and made an appearance at Godfrey Entertainment this week. It was a totally cool fricken place. There were pictures of every freestyle motocross star that you could think of. Guys from Travis Pastrana to Supercross stars like Jeremy Mcgrath and Ricky Carmichael. It was a gear heads paradise. In the back you could see the film guys editing through the new footage for their latest DVD that will be coming out soon. I’m not sure of the DVD name yet, but I’m sure it will be phenomenal.

Unfortunately Greg Godfrey was not in that day. I was so bummed. I did leave him a copy of my book, a DVD and one of my posters though. So hopefully he will call eventually. I will stay on top of it though. Greg and I are destined to meet. So keep your fingers crossed.

Well tomorrow I’m off to a place called Cougar Buttes, California for a PROROCK rockcrawl event. Cougar Buttes is about 45 miles east of out of Barstow. If you have ever been to Barstow, it’s definitely the armpit of California. But needless to say, Cougar Buttes is a rad place to compete. This will also be my first PROROCK event. So will have to see how it goes.

Also the Outdoor Channel will be there filming this weekend, for a new show that they have coming out this fall. So I will have to let you know when it airs. So check back with me next week to see how this event goes.

Until next week, always “PUSH THE LIMITS” because life’s too short not to………...

This past year I finished writing a script called “PUSH” The Clay Egan story about my life. Well, while writing this script I had just met Tanner and I wrote that into the script. When I wrote about Tanner I hadn’t really tied his uncle to this entire story yet even though he and I had talked about his Nitro Circus films.

Over the last six months I have been talking to different producers and different people in the film industry about my film. Back in April I was talking to my marketing girl about Greg’s new film about Travis Pastrana. It came up in our conversation that we should contact him about my story. About a week later I was talking with another friend about my script and the first thing out of his mouth was that he was good friends with Greg Godfrey and that I should contact Greg about my script. While we were talking, he actually called Greg for me and left a message on his cell phone about my story. Then that very night another good friend of mine by the name of Larry Gibbons called and said, “hey, I’ve got a friend that I think you should meet. Can you come over for dinner tomorrow night?” He then told me that this friend was Greg Godfrey’s right hand man, a guy by the name of Brandon Neff. Larry said that he would be a good person to talk to about my script. So now I’m thinking this whole Greg Godfrey thing is something that I should pursue.

Last week I met with another local producer named Kurt Hale. He is one of Utah’s top independent and well known film producers. When I was pitching my script to him the first thing he said to me was that he was good friends with Greg Godfrey and that he should call him about my script. I started to laugh and I said that he was the fourth person over the last few months that has said that I should talk to Greg. I guess I should meet this Greg Godfrey guy. For what ever the reason there is some cosmic force trying to get us together. So at 2:30 today I am going to stop by his office and just drop in. So check back next week to see how my visit goes.

This week’s blog is kind of a long story and so I am going to break it up into, two possibly three separate parts. About ten months ago I was speaking at a local High School out here in Utah by the name of Jordan High. After I was done talking to the students a couple of guys came up to me and told me of a friend of theirs named Tanner Godfrey, that had recently broken his back in a motocross accident. They told me that Tanner was up at the University of Utah Medical Center and they had just moved him down to rehab, which is actually where I was in the hospital after I broke my neck. I also learned that this boy Tanner also went to my same High School. He and I had a lot in common and so I told his buddies that I would go up and visit him.

I meet a number of new spinal chord injured patients every year up at the U of U Hospital and at a number of other rehab centers around the area. I always take them a copy of my book and a poster. So I go up to the U, (that’s short for University of Utah) to meet Tanner. When I got there we talked for quite a bit and swapped stories. He then tells me that his dad had crashed in the same spot that he did, the day before and had broken his back also but didn’t get paralyzed. After talking with Tanner for quite a while I learned that his uncle is Greg Godfrey. The same Greg Godfrey who has produced all of the Nitro Circus Films with Travis Pastrana and on all of the other extreme freestyle motocross stars and he is also the guy who produced that film a few months back on Travis Pastrana’s life called 199 Lives. This guy Greg has a huge history of extreme videos. Check back next time for how Greg and I are going to tie into this story.

Until next week, always “PUSH THE LIMITS” because life’s too short not to………...

Dana is the son of the legendary Producer Bruce Brown who came out with a Documentary back in the seventies called On Any Sunday, which was a documentary on the history of motorcycle racing. Dana’s film Dust To Glory is a documentary about the Baja 1000.

While growing up I was a huge fan of The “LEGEND” Walker Evans. Walker got his fame from being the first to race the Baja in a truck and he actually won the event. He has gone on to win the Baja 1000 seven times and he has raced with other legends like Parnelli Jones, and actors James Garner and the late Steve Mcqueen. So racing the Baja is something I have always dreamed about racing in. After seeing Dana’s film Dust To Glory I was hooked for sure. As far as I’m concerned, this is the greatest race movie ever made. If you haven’t seen it, you should not only see it but you should buy it. When it came out in the theater, I went and saw it four nights in a row. It’s definitely a must see.

The Baja 1000 is the longest point A to point B race in the world. It starts out in Ensenada Mexico and finishes in Le Paz, Mexico. It goes all the way down the Mexican Baja peninsula. This race has 26 different classes of vehicles from Volkswagen bugs all the way up to $2,000,000 Trophy trucks and as many as 250,000 spectators gather to see the racers battle a thousand merciless miles through the desert all the way to the finish. If you finish? This year the Baja takes place on November 20 through the 23. The race takes any where from 16 hours to 36 hours.

This year I will finally get a chance to go down and experience this amazing race first hand. My buddy Chris Ridgeway is racing it this year on his bike and we are going down to chase for him. The chase teams are basically a racers pit crew. The chase team sets up at each check point to change tires, make repairs and refuel for the racers. We are also going down to learn the ropes so we can race it next year. We are hopefully going to run the Jeep Speed class next year for our first time. So we’ll see. I’ll keep ya posted as things transpire.

To me the Baja 1000 is the ultimate race. I can’t wait to experience it first hand.

Until next week, always “PUSH THE LIMITS” because life’s too short not to………...
