Today is Take Your Dog to Work Day. While it isn't quite a holiday, I hardly need occasion to commemorate animals. Especially when these particular dogs are celebrating "Take Your Human to Work Day."

Here a doggy, there a doggy, and another service doggy...

Everybody has to start somewhere, so have a couple of working dogs in training.

This guy is an actual German police dog. That's not a novelty costume. He sure rocks that hat!

WHOA. BIG DOG.

A very big service dog. I didn't know they made harnesses that size.

Of course, you can't work all the time. Even humans need breaks. Both the following are search-and-rescue dogs resting between rescuing people after 9-11.

The 911 rescue dogs were literally worked to death. They were not properly shielded from toxins so most of them have died of, or are dying from, various cancers caused by hazardous materials in the rubble of the World Trade Center.

Wow. Dogs are so great. I have to admit though, I have no idea what they are using dogs for in Afghanistan. I was looking at website that sells wheelchair for dogs today, and I couldn't decide if it was sweet or depressing. We sell all the best sports wheelchair for humans at Sportaid.com, but there is just something about a two-legged dog that just gets to me.
