Winter or Spring? 10 Snowy Flowers for the Vernal Equinox

Today is the first day of spring. It'sbeen sunny and warm and generally beautiful out all month (except, of course, for today).  This is actually quite unsettling.  This is March in Colorado, after all. It's supposed to be our snowiest month. It's supposed to be some weird mix of winter and spring, and you have to dress for both at once.  It's supposed to be like this:

I will freely admit, this next one makes me kind of sad.

Bright white snow on bright orange flowers

What really gets me about some of these is the color contrast. The flowers are so colorful, and the snow is so white.  Cases in point:

Of course, sometimes the contrast is a bit more stark.
