MOST CERTAINLY Abercrombie and Fitch is selecting, discriminating of their company policies, against Riam, as companies, and citizens around the world follow the exact same model. A model of segregation that places the disabled into, and of, the surroundings of a single definition. Disabled to them means you cannot work, and if you do it needs to be according to what they allow you to do. I've run into similar situations, when applying to be a store greeter, welcoming customers as they enter the store. As I can only stand, in pain, for limited amounts of time, the stores tell me I cannot have a stool to rest in off, and on. They tell me, "If you were confined to a wheel chair, its acceptable" It is down right discrimination, but I've been told you cannot fight them as they will deny such remarks. One of these days the disabled will figure out we need to unite, get the damn tax payer paid advocates out of our business, and take it to the streets. The judicial system is stacked against you, and the public that cares knows nothing about it.

As a mum of two boys with autism (ASD and PDD-NOS) I have to say that I find this totally unacceptable. That poor little boy (and his parents) will have to go back to the drawing board and start all over as far as confidence in the outside world is concerned. Teachers are suppossed to care for our children, not torment them like this. I hope the parents are suing - I sure would.

What she did was wrong regardless. As for labeling a child with autism or something similar, if you have any doubts, then don't do it. Kids don't need the humiliation of thinking that they're handicapped at existing in human civilization. Some people actually are, but those people are few and far between (and of course should have respect). They try to pathologize a bunch of famous contributors to society these days, but guess what; those people got along fine and would have had difficulties, self-consciousness, awkwardness, and all sorts of issues if they'd been made to believe from a young age that they had a genetic inability to do the non-IQ part of existence. I don't like this trend of blaming everything on genetics anyway.

I think this is alot of crap! I believe that alot of people think the police department is "tainted" but that is not a fact!!! The same people who call it "tainted" are the first to call for help! Sure officers might have been in the wrong but they were disciplined. Some people just like attention. Like people who ride around town with a sign on the back of their truck making false statements! That is fine. Justice will be served :-)

Since 1975, federal law has provided a free and public education for all students with disabilities. No where in the law does it permit exclusion from school services. I am appalled that this illegal behavior would be condoned by anyone, especially a school board charged with upholding mandates and regulations. I hope this parent pursues legal action toward all parties involved.

Anyone notice the disparity in the above article labeled employees FIRED but the body of the article says they were suspended with PAY - sounds like a paid vacation to me. THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED - PERIOD There are enough people looking for jobs that would care about their charges, what is wrong with the school district, anyone local contact the Governor?
