Although Super Tuesday primaries and caucuses experienced record attendance, many of America's senior citizens weren't afforded a chance to vote.
According to an article at SeniorJournal.com, only eight of the twenty-four states voting yesterday made accommodations for seniors who couldn't leave their home. In the remaining states, those too disabled to get to the polls were disenfranchised.
The lack of voting access for the elderly was recently the subject of a Senate Special Committee on Aging, and it appears Congressional representatives have gotten the point.
"There is no reason for states to fall down on the job of voter accessibility," said the committee's chariman, Herb Kohl (D-Wi).
