Diversity, Inc. magazine is featuring two articles on disabilities issues on their website:

Seven Things Never to Say to People with Disabilities

and

Karen Putz's Video Interview on Drive-Thru Access (captioned)

A couple of weeks ago, I was in New York and did the video interview at Diversity, Inc.  The interview follows a previous story at Diversity, Inc.: Second-Class Citizen: Deaf Mother of Three Denied Service at Restaurant.

Diversity, Inc. also did an article on employment:

Protecting Rights of People with Hearing Loss:  What Does the Law Say?   This video isn't captioned, but I contacted Diversity, Inc. and asked them to caption it.

It's a good thing the video is open captioned because the volume is so low that nobody can hear it.

Cheryl, that's a good example of how accomodation helps everyone!

Congratulations on the continued coverage of your story, DeafMom.

And interesting timing too. This morning I've been researching the difference between 'diversity' and 'inclusion', thinking that would make a good post. But the idea became muddled somewhere along the way.

Congrats on the influence, DeafMom! Next thing you know you will be getting asked to speak at conferences about accessibility.

Thank you so much for posting those articles and videos. It was wonderful to know people are paying attention, but it was also interesting to learn more about you.

Glenda, you're on to something-- go for that post!

I'm currently a speaker for Hands & Voices and wouldn't mind tackling accessibility issues too.

This morning, a documentary was filmed at a local Culver's restaurant as part of an accessibility video.
