"Adversity does not discriminate," says Stephen Hopson. "No one is immune from it."
I happened upon Stephen Hopson's Adversity University blog by doing a Google search for deaf blog owners one day. I was immediately intrigued to learn that Stephen was the first deaf instrument-rated pilot. My brother is a pilot and I've flown in his small plane a few times. As I began to read more from his blog and his professional site, Stephen J. Hopson, I realized that I stumbled on one unique guy.
I especially enjoyed the story of the day that Stephen thanked his fifth-grade teacher for being an inspiration to him. Stephen didn't just write her a letter, he thanked her by surprising her on the Leeza show and in front of millions of viewers.
But what especially impressed me about Stephen was the fact that he walked away from a six-figure income as a stockbrocker. A day at the beach lead to his life-changing path, and today, Stephen is a professional motivational speaker. He's also a generous guy when it comes to helping others and is quick to share his knowledge when asked.
Stephen encourages others to follow their passion in his motivational blog articles. It is clear from his own life that he is doing the same. From the comments left on his blog, it is easy to see how his inspirational articles are leading others to live their lives to the fullest.
For Disaboom readers, Stephen will soon be joining the bloggers here and sharing his own motivational stories. I look forward to reading his contributions at Disaboom!
